Former Forester team captain Sam Kotler '09, a running back, was the most recent Forester honored by JSR.

"This is a great honor for Ari. I am please that he received this recognition. Had he played an additional year of football, there is no doubt that he would have been on a radar of a number of other award lists. He had a truly fantastic season, and was one of the most surprisingly successful players that I have ever coached. His improvement from spring ball to the start of the season was amazing," said Coach Catanzaro.

For the past two seasons, Kevin Davis has found himself at the center of opposing defenses attention on the football field. Over the course of the weekend, Kevin was measured, tested, and give the opportunity to play against other All-Americans from schools such as: South Dakota, Indiana State, Saginaw Valley, Mount Union, and Brown.

2012 Schedule Released

2012 Lake Forest College Football Schedule

The Lake Forest College Athletic Department released the 2012 Forester Football Schedule on Tuesday. The Foresters will face a balanced schedule of 5 home and 5 away games in 2012. With the addition of Cornell College to the Midwest Conference, the Foresters will have one non-conference game (Concordia University) and will face nine of the other 10 Midwest Conference games. For the first time since , the Foresters will not face MWC opponent Beloit College, whom the Foresters defeated 27-17 in 2011. This will be the first fall since 1976 that the Buccaneers and the Foresters have not faced each other on the grid-iron.

"I am very pleased with our schedule. I like the balance in the schedule and the addition of a bye week. I think that we will have an advantage in our bye week planning since we had a similar situation at the end of the season this year," commented Coach Catanzaro.

The Foresters kickoff the 2012 season on the road at Concordia University on September 1st, and return to Farwell Field against Lawrence University to start MWC play on September 8th.

2012 Nike Coach of the Year Clinic features Forester Coaches!

The 2012 Nike Coach of the Year Clinic in St. Louis had a unique Forester flavor. Lake Forest College Offensive Coordinator Craig Kerr kicked off the clinic with a presentation on the Route Conversions within the Forester Passing Game. Head Coach Jim Catanzaro presented on "Communicating Game-plans Among Your Coaching Staff." This was Coach Kerr's first COTY presentation, while Coach Catanzaro was speaking at his fourth COTY clinic.

"It is a tremendous opportunity for us to speak in front of high school coaches whom we see extensively while recruiting. Being down here continues to foster our relationships with them, and encourages them to reach out to us to talk football, not just recruiting," said Coach Catanzaro.

"Coach Kerr did a tremendous job, it was one of the best clinic speeches that I have seen in a while. He did a great job representing our program, and it is clear that his teaching of our offense has a lot to do with the success that we had this past season," commented Catanzaro. "Being on the defensive side of the ball, I don't always have the opportunity to see Coach teach the intricacies of the offense. I know that there were a number of high school coaches who commented to me how "sharp" our Offensive Coordinator is."

Coaches Catanzaro and Kerr joined fellow presenters such as Chris Peterson (Head Coach- Boise State), Jeff Tedford (Head Coach- California), Joker Phillips (Head Coach- Kentucky), Jimbo Fisher (Head Coach-Florida State University) among others at the annual St. Louis Event.
