The Forester Football Coaches announced their players of the week in the 41-17 Midwest Conference victory over Cornell College.
Offensive Player of the Week: Freshman QB Jagan Cleary (Yuma Catholic, Yuma, AZ). In his first collegiate start, the signal caller broke the school record for QB Efficiency (234.51) and tied the school record with 5 Touchdown passes in a single game.
Defensive Player of the Week: Senior LB Sean Chapman (Luther North, Glenview, IL). Chapman became the first Forester to record three sacks in a game since 2004. He also had 9 tackles on the day and a pass break up.
Lineman of the Week: Sophomore DL Tim Finucane (Marist High School, Chicago, IL). Finucane overcame injuries to record two sacks and batted down a pass in limited action on Saturday.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Freshman Holder/QB LJ Smith (North Broward Prep, Boca Raton, FL) In blustery winds, and cold rain, the freshman was perfect on holds throughout the day.
Scout Team Player of the Week: Freshman DL James Pruitt (Merrit High School, Elk City, OK) The Freshman Defensive Lineman earned his second scout team player of the week award!
