Former Forester team captain Sam Kotler '09, a running back, was the most recent Forester honored by JSR.
"This is a great honor for Ari. I am please that he received this recognition. Had he played an additional year of football, there is no doubt that he would have been on a radar of a number of other award lists. He had a truly fantastic season, and was one of the most surprisingly successful players that I have ever coached. His improvement from spring ball to the start of the season was amazing," said Coach Catanzaro.

For the past two seasons, Kevin Davis has found himself at the center of opposing defenses attention on the football field. While other Lake Forest students were enjoying beaches and relaxation during Spring Break, Kevin was making himself the center of attention at the BSN Collegiate Showcase at the University of Akron. Over the course of the weekend, Kevin was measured, tested, and give the opportunity to play against other All-Americans from schools such as: South Dakota, Indiana State, Saginaw Valley, Mount Union, and Brown.
Kevin stood out to many of the observers at the combine and was awarded the MR OFFENSE award by one publication. Kevin was also featured in a length interview/article, that contains a lot of multi-media by freelance journalist Heather Wright. Heather's interview can be found here: KEVIN DAVIS INTERVIEW
Kevin continues to gain interest from a number of different professional football teams, and has a bright future a head of him. Coach Catanzaro commented,"I couldn't be happier for Kevin. He has grown so much during his time at Lake Forest in every aspect. I am impressed that Ms. Wright was able to pick up on Kevin's humility and recognize his character. I am excited to see what Kevin's next path in football will be."
