The Forester Football team announced their end of the year award winners at their banquet at the Key Lime Cove Convention Center.
MVP: Senior, Defensive End, Jake Rotkvich. The 2x 1st Team All-MWC Selection paced the Foresters with 8 sacks and 12.5 tackles for a loss, while serving his second year as team captain.
MIP: Sophomore, Wide Receiver, George Vidas. Vidas who had just one catch as a freshman, lead the Foresters in receiving yards (454) and was second in receptions during his sophomore campaign. In the final contest of 2013, Vidas broke a school record for yards per reception as he had 4 catches for 158 yards (39.5 yards per catch) against conference champions St. Norbert College.
Rookie of the Year: Freshman, Running Back, Charlie Quinn. The Scottsdale, AZ native lead the Foresters in rushing after injuries to all upperclass running backs pushed him to the starting role. Quinn averaged 4.0 yards per carry, and had three games where he recorded over 75 yards.
Forester Pride Award: Senior, Defensive Lineman, Michael Garetto-Balmer. Garetto-Balmer, was selected by his teammates, as the individual who best represents the Forester Football Program. A 3x All-Academic MWC selection, who was also a 2x All-MWC selection on the field, Garetto-Balmer finished the season with 7 Sacks on the year. Garetto-Balmer was also named Capital One Academic All-District Team.
