Forester football players come from ALL-ACROSS the country. The above map represents the states that current members of the Forester roster hail from. This does not include our international players: Phil Rindom- Denmark, Nana Yaw Larbi-Tieku- Ghana, Giang Nguyen- Vietnam, and Clint Stibbard- Canada. 

LAKE FOREST COLLEGE FOOTBALL TO HOST ANNUAL CONTACT FOOTBALL CAMP JUNE 15-19

Lake Forest College Football Coach Jim Catanzaro, will once again lead the Chicago area Contact Football Camp at Lake Forest College June 15-19th.

"This is an incredible camp. We have attracted some of the best coaches throughout the country to come and work our camp. Their specificity of teaching, their approach to technical development, and the opportunity to do this in a full contact environment is unique," said Catanzaro. "Last season we had coaches from six different college football programs, and I anticipate another high quality staff again in 2014."

"This camp provides a lot of great exposure of the athletes to the coaches that are on site. Additionally, the youth of the camp learn the basic skills of contact in a gradual, safe, and fundamentally sound manner. We have had numerous repeat campers, including several that have been hear for six or seven years," said Catanzaro.

End of Year Team Awards Announced

The Forester Football team announced their end of the year award winners at their banquet at the Key Lime Cove Convention Center.

MVP: Senior, Defensive End, Jake Rotkvich. The 2x 1st Team All-MWC Selection paced the Foresters with 8 sacks and 12.5 tackles for a loss, while serving his second year as team captain.

MIP: Sophomore, Wide Receiver, George Vidas. Vidas who had just one catch as a freshman, lead the Foresters in receiving yards (454) and was second in receptions during his sophomore campaign. In the final contest of 2013, Vidas broke a school record for yards per reception as he had 4 catches for 158 yards (39.5 yards per catch) against conference champions St. Norbert College.

Rookie of the Year: Freshman, Running Back, Charlie Quinn. The Scottsdale, AZ native lead the Foresters in rushing after injuries to all upperclass running backs pushed him to the starting role. Quinn averaged 4.0 yards per carry, and had three games where he recorded over 75 yards.

Forester Pride Award: Senior, Defensive Lineman, Michael Garetto-Balmer. Garetto-Balmer, was selected by his teammates, as the individual who best represents the Forester Football Program. A 3x All-Academic MWC selection, who was also a 2x All-MWC selection on the field, Garetto-Balmer finished the season with 7 Sacks on the year. Garetto-Balmer was also named Capital One Academic All-District Team.

MUSINGS FROM COACH CAT

Today is easily my favorite day of the trip with Team Stars and Stripes. We ventured to a poor part of Monterrey and spent the afternoon with some elementary school children. The team was broken up into two groups. The first group worked hard to paint a wall that will become a mural, as well as concrete picnic tables and other areas that had been painted in graffiti. In the other group, out guys were attempting, though not quite successfully (significant language barrier) to learn some of American Football rules. The guys were able to get a few games of passing the ball in a circle and keep away going, but that was as close as we got to football. Our team came with lots of give-aways, shirts, shorts, hats, water bottles, etc. 

I was extremely proud of our Foresters. We preach civic responsibility throughout our program, and to see these guys continue to perform on a global stage was awesome for me.
