11 Questions with Team Captain Steve Yena


Over the next couple of weeks, we'll be doing some "getting to know our Foresters" profiles.

First up to bat is senior Steve Yena. Steve was named captain by his teammates this past winter, and has established himself as one of the most respected players on our team.

In addition to being a two-time all-conference tight end, Steve has also played three years of rugby. In addition, Steve was recognized for his contributions to the greater campus community by being named to the Senior 25 award by his peers.

Yena also has been a part of a cooperative program with University of Virginia where he went to Jamaica in the summer of 2009 to lend his hand in assisting the Falmouth Heritage Renewal. (see article: Jamaica Gleamer News)

Favorite Football Memory: Beating Carroll three years ago with a drive under two minutes. Also playing in in my first game in college against Wash. U.

Favorite Quote: "If it's to be, its up to me."

Why did you choose Lake Forest College: Small Classes and close to Chicago.

After college, what do you hope to pursue: Either go into banking or agriculture.
